As a top dentist in Plano, TX, we try our best to make sure we have the latest dental technology for our patients. Better technology allows us to provide treatment that’s both quicker and more comfortable for both patients and our dental team. Below, Dr. Mark Sowell highlights some of the dental technology available in our Plano, TX dental office.
We don’t just offer run-of-the-mill laser dentistry in our office. The WaterLase iPlus is one of the most advanced dental lasers available. It’s extremely gentle but able to be used for a wide variety of treatment options. This laser in particular makes it easy to remove cavities precisely and provides super small dental fillings.
When you’re getting a smile makeover or other cosmetic dentistry solutions, it can be hard to envision the final product. With Smile-Vision, you’re able to see the projected image of your future smile before the treatment even starts. It’s an advanced cosmetic imaging system, utilizing pictures of your actual smile that are changed based on the procedures you plan on getting. Knowing what your new smile will look like lets you know exactly what you have to look forward to!
Typically, an x-ray is a flat, 2-D image that’s similar to a picture. 3-D imagery allows us to see much more of your mouth. The sinus cavities, jawbone, and joints are all displayed clearly in a 3-D x-ray. All of the imagery that’s needed for more complex procedures can be taken under our roof. This is especially helpful in planning surgical procedures.
The intraoral camera both gives Dr. Sowell better, clearer imagery of the inside of your mouth, but it helps you to understand what he’s seeing as well. It magnifies the surfaces of your teeth, allowing Dr. Sowell to diagnose any tiny cracks or damage that may not be easily seen through other methods. You’ll also be able to see the projected image, giving you a visual to better understand the issues that Dr. Sowell finds.
This high-intensity micro-light was sought out by Dr. Sowell due to his frustration with traditional dental lighting. With this light, the tooth is illuminated from the inside out. This allows for better detection of minuscule cracks that tend to form in our teeth as we get older. The light even allows Dr. Sowell to detect decay or other issues that may not even show up on an x-ray. The earlier problems like these are detected, the easier they are to treat.
At our office, we offer all of these technical options and more! By staying up to date with the latest and greatest in technology, we’re able to give our patients a unique dental experience. You may request a consultation online or call Dr. Sowell at (972) 382-6855.
