Dental Crown Procedure

Do you have extensive tooth damage? Are you looking for a permanently white smile? Dental crowns are a cosmetic option used to protect damaged, worn and weak teeth. They can cover an implant, stabilize a tooth after a filling or root canal, and support a dental bridge. In addition, a crown may realign the bite and cover stained or discolored teeth. Dr. Mark Sowell and his professional team offer high-quality services to patients in Plano, TX. They welcome those who need cosmetic and restorative treatments such as dental crowns and personalize their care to address patient’s oral health, budget, and goals. Dental Crowns Plano TX for damaged teeth

Treatment with Dental Crowns

Patients can receive one or more dental crowns over 2 or 3 visits to our office, depending on their particular needs. If required, Dr. Sowell will remove an old dental crown, provide root canal treatment, or offer a dental filling. This is done to make sure that the tooth structure is free of infection or any other outstanding problems. The tooth or teeth receiving treatment are reshaped for future crown placement. Digital impressions are then made of teeth for a custom restoration.

Our office collaborates with master ceramist James Chung to create ceramic dental crowns and porcelain veneers at our in-office laboratory. Dr. Sowell and Mr. Chung work together to ensure that crowns are fabricated to fit each patient precisely. When the custom dental crown or crowns are complete, Dr. Sowell will secure them and ensure that they feel comfortable. Mr. Chung will also be present at the final appointment to establish that the aesthetics are approved.
