Meet your Prosthodontist in Plano, TX: Dr. Sara Chen, DMD, MS
Dr. Sara Chen received her bachelor’s degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. She attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. Dr. Chen then completed an additional 3-year prosthodontics specialty residency program at the University of Illinois in Chicago to further her training in complex cosmetic, restorative and surgical implant dentistry.
She was recognized as the winner of the American College of Prosthodontics John Sharry Award for her research on minimally invasive all ceramic crowns. Dr. Chen is a multi-faceted specialist who has been peer-reviewed and published in numerous dental journals. As a certified cosmetic specialist in prosthodontics, she has worked in private practice in downtown Chicago and in Texas providing complex cosmetic, implant, and full mouth reconstructive dentistry.
Born and raised in New Hampshire with her parents and sister, Dr. Chen initially decided to pursue an engineering major at MIT. After realizing that she wanted to help people and work more with her hands, she decided to change her major to Brain and Cognitive Science and went on to receive her doctorate degree. Following graduation, Dr. Chen worked in private practices and as faculty at Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
During her residency in Chicago, Dr. Chen met her husband, Albert Park DDS. They moved to the Dallas area to be closer to family. Shortly after, they decided to start a family of their own and Dr. Chen is now the proud mom of a toddler. In her free time, Dr. Chen loves spending time with her family, trying new restaurants, going to Canuck’s hockey games, and spending time with their parents.
