While many sporting goods stores sell mouthguards for sports, these versions are not as effective as the PlaySafe sports mouthpiece offered by Dr. Sowell at Sowell Sensational Smiles.

These standard boil-and-bite mouthguards lead one to believe that they offer protection because they are custom-formed to your teeth but this is untrue. They do not provide the necessary amount of thickness require to actually protect teeth.
How a Playsafe Sports Mouthguards is Fabricated

These models will be sent to a dental lab where your custom mouthguard will be fabricated. It will take about two weeks from your initial appointment until you receive your PlaySafe mouthguard.
PlaySafe sports mouthguards are available in an assortment of colors. You can also customize it with your team’s logo. If needed, you can get an optional helmet strap in red or black. The mouthguards vary based on the sport being played and the age of the athlete.
